Jadara University, represented by Chairman Dr. Shukri Al-Marashdeh and President Prof. Dr. Habis Al-Zboun, attended the SelectUSA 2024 Investment Summit in Maryland, USA. The event saw notable attendance from business leaders, economic stakeholders, major companies, and active participation from universities and academics. Dr. Al-Marashdeh and Dr. Al-Zboun emphasized that the university's participation in this significant investment summit aimed to stay abreast of the latest global developments in technology, entrepreneurship, and innovation, which play a crucial role in advancing education and enhancing its outputs.

They noted that the current edition of the investment summit garnered significant interest from U.S. government and local officials, along with prominent participation from leading global investment companies. They expressed profound gratitude to the summit organizers for providing participants with a unique opportunity to learn about best practices from investors, thought leaders, and policymakers through various public sessions, academic forums, and exhibitions hosted by the summit. They also commended the efforts of the Jordanian Embassy in Washington for offering extensive support and services to Jordanians in the USA and warmly welcoming them.

The first day of the summit featured a welcoming speech by Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo and an address from the Governors' Committee on Innovation Ecosystems. On the second day, the summit hosted a welcoming reception for the Jordanian delegation by the senior trade leadership, a meeting with the Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Global Markets in Chesapeake, and an evening reception in Prince George’s Exhibit Hall. The day also included sessions showcasing ideas from emerging and startup companies worldwide in clean and open technology. General sessions were held, featuring speeches from U.S. Cabinet members, state governors, CEOs, and industry experts discussing innovation ecosystems in technology.

The summit provided participants the opportunity to explore leading ideas in economic development, industrial services, and modern technology startups. The third day's opening session in Potomac Hall included speeches from U.S. Deputy Secretary of Commerce Don Graves and Deputy National Security Advisor for International Economics Daleep Singh from the National Economic Council. The third day also featured speeches from several company presidents and CEOs, as well as U.S. Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg and Secretary of State Antony Blinken, alongside various governors, discussing workforce development in the clean energy era.

On the sidelines of the summit, participants visited the National Museum of American History and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce to learn about their local and international operations.
